Meet Little Al and Big Al
|
|
Al Herback and Al Price - better known in Little League Baseball
as Little Al and Big Al - are the originators of the "Know Your
Baseball" training program, now the Little League Official Education
Program for Managers and Coaches.
|
|
For more than 28 years, Al and Al have been conducting clinics throughout
North America. They've presented their program and resources to more
than 50,000 managers/coaches and 60,000 players. Their unique approach
to teaching the skills of baseball and softball has been recognized
internationally for its merit. Their methods have been acclaimed as
unparallelled.
|
|
Both Als come from a teaching background - they share more than 47
years of educational experience between them. They've drawn on this,
and on their passion for the sport of baseball, to create a comprehensive,
straightforward, interactive approach to learning and teaching fundamental
baseball, softball and tee ball skills.

Al & Al's Teaching Philosophy
|
|
Decades of experience have culminated in this comprehensive, easy-to-follow
approach to learning the fundamentals of baseball, softball and tee ball.
Each component of the program ties together principles of learning that have
proven effective time and time again. Al & Al have distilled their knowledge
in a way that makes it easy for kids, parents and coaches to learn. Here's
how they do it, in a nutshell:
|
- All the fundamental skills are clearly identified.
- Each skill is broken down into a series of simple, straightforward steps
presented in a learnable progression.
- Skills are presented in a creative and motivating manner that is easy for
anyone from the novice to the more experienced to follow.
- Above all, they never forget that the game is supposed to be active -
and fun.
|
|
Al & Al's step-by-step approach has helped both new and experienced coaches
build Little League teams with a solid foundation of basic skills. Take
advantage of this great, well-planned program: do it for the kids!
